about

Cat's A Bear did two sessions at Euphoria Sound Studios on Shirley Ave in Revere, MA in the mid '80s. These are the original tracks from those sessions, never before released. Two cover songs from the recordings are available for download at catsabear.com

These tracks are the first original music recorded by Cat's A Bear, beginning a forty year history of making, recording and performing original jazz. Hours were spent getting the sounds and mix, with great help from engineers Gordon and Mark. These objectives were unconventional for the times (and even now), and these two gentlemen worked hard to help develop the band's ideas, setting their ethic and process of recording in place for the years to come.

These tracks were mastered for volume and noise in 2021 to revitalize the mixes and allow for close listening. Please enjoy!

The photos are from an early promotional session. Ah, youth.
