A Day In The Life Of A Cat

by Cat's A Bear

HSA 05:49
In-Cog-Tito 06:29
Raging Nick 09:23
Suburban Art 08:13

This recording took place on June 17 of 1992, part of a series of recordings made in preparation for the Cycling Troll Sessions. Made a week or two after the primary recordings, this album reflects the ideas generated by studying the previous recordings and setting particular objectives, including some different material.

Two versions of Bill's B.S. show the band's intent to try ideas and experiment with the tunes, both in form and arrangement and in individual approach. The drum break down in Raging Nick is very hip, as is the trading section at the end of Suburban Art, where the soloist has to comp for the next player. These were fun arrangements to try, and also represent sole versions of some tunes with this particular band.
